    18th C. Louis XV Bureau Scriban Bibliotic Secretary Cabinet Mahogany Antiques LA .An important rare and Tall Scribing bibliotic secretaire Library desk of a Gentleman or a Lady.  Enclosing fitted interior incorporating pigeonholes, hinged compartments.

    Outstanding arch top Cornice Molded with raised and recessed, Two front upper library doors Symmetrical with beautiful Hand Metal work of the period.  all present and well preserved in a formidable condition, 8 apparent drawers in middle cabinet + 4 Large bottom Drawers . incredible attention and craftsmanship and they are all very well fitted. with all original hardware hinges handles and plaques. As seen in the closeup pictures the signs of the centuries are apparent but minor considering such a large piece of furniture , such as cracks chips losses , some tightening, with multiple keys and locks . etc.. But overall outstanding condition , at the lower part it looks like a hardware is missing, that’s not the case, we have it , just needs to be mounted in place.     we have seen our fair share of incredible furniture of the 15th to 19th Century periods. I must say, this desk is incredibly well preserved for its age. the fitting work and the design at that level of sophistication and craftsmanship. the result that could only be achieved by big Masters. this type of furniture at that level are mostly kept with the old families, rarely to see them on the market. I have some other high end chateau inventory and rare pieces of the periods as well.     Measures: Height 93” Width 51” Depth 25”. 

    An important and rare 18th century Dutch burl walnut secretaire cabinet Scriban desk Enclosing fitted interior incorporating pigeonholes, hinged compartments, folio slides Pull-out candle slides drawers with Herringbone inlay and secret compartments. Outstanding arch top pediment Cornice Molded with raised and recessed, crowning very fine elaborate Two front fielded paneled doors Symmetrical with mirroring inlaid work done with European walnut burl which is light in color and finer in texture. And Beautiful 18th Century Carved three-dimensional acanthus leaves . The parchment and Document vertical slides all present and well preserved in a formidable condition, Topped by 10 pigeonholes on top / 4 at bottom / 3 in the middle cabinet. 27 apparent drawers and 4 in middle cabinet + 2 hidden pull out on top of the bottom pigeon holes and could be unlocked after removing the 3 drawers from the desk up. 2 pull out Candle holders. 2 pull out hidden drawers with Corinthian decoration exterior. At desk level another secret sliding cabinet that is very deep and wide to hide documents. Inside of it , there’s a pull out side vertical and with a thread to pull out another to secret compartments. All the interior small drawers, document slides, candle slides, pigeonholes, sliding covers and compartments done with an incredible attention and craftsmanship and they are all very well fitted. The desk is fitted with 3 incredible Arc-en-Arbale`te very large drawers crossbow shape serpentine with all original hardware hinges handles and plaques. Mounted on Geometric Square Feet elevating the entirety of this art work of this rare secretary. As seen in the closeup pictures the signs of the centuries are apparent but minor considering such a large piece of furniture , such as cracks chips etc.. But overall outstanding condition.
